ABS-CBN is most watched network in 2017

Most Filipinos tuned in to the relevant news stories and valuable lessons brought by ABS-CBN in 2017 as the network recorded an average audience share of 46% on both urban and rural homes, or a 12-point lead over GMA’s 34%, according to the full year data from Kantar Media.

ABS-CBN won in the national TV ratings across the country, particularly in Metro Manila where it garnered an average audience share of 40% versus GMA’s 29%. It also beat its rival network in Total Balance Luzon where it registered an average audience share of 48%, compared to GMA’s 36%; in Total Visayas where it got 53%, beating GMA’s 28%; and in Total Mindanao as it hit 53%, while GMA only got 31%.

Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

Meanwhile, the Kapamilya network also ended the year strongly as it recorded an average audience share of 45% in December, while GMA only got 34%.

Reigning for already two years on primetime, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” remained as the most watched program for 2017 and was warmly welcomed into households nationwide as it hit an average national TV rating of 38.6%.

Hit reality-talent show for celebrity kids “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” also topped the list as it recorded an average national TV rating of 35.7%.

Viewers also witnessed the fulfillment of young singing Pinoys’ dreams in the first edition in Asia of “The Voice Teens,” which hit 34.4%.

Top-rating series “La Luna Sangre” (33.8%), meanwhile, marked the most awaited comeback of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla on television and the reunion of Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez.

On the other hand, “TV Patrol” (31.3%) remained as the most watched newscast in the country all year round as it brought timely news and delivered public service to Kapamilyas in different parts of the nation as it celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The young and talented kids of “Little Big Shots” (31.1%) also did not fail to impress viewers nationwide with their charm and irresistible wit that made a mark in people’s hearts.

“Wansapantaym” (29.8%) also gave a magical treat through its values-laden stories every Sunday. “MMK,” meanwhile, (29.6%) continued to bring inspiration with the real life stories of its letter senders on its 25th year.

The touching story of kindness and love in “My Dear Heart” 27.6% captivated audiences nationwide, while “Magpahanggang Wakas” (25%) exhibited the strength of enduring love to audiences.

Also making it to the top 20 were Kapamily sitcom “Home Sweetie Home” (24.2%), one of the most talked about series of 2017 “Wildflower” (23.8%), comedy kiddie show “Goin’ Bulilit” (22.1%), “Kapamilya Weekend Specials (Sunday)” (19.6%), news and current affairs program “Rated K” (19.2%), and noontime variety show “It’s Showtime (Saturday)” (18.6%).

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also ruled across all time blocks from January to December 2017, particularly on primetime where it registered an average audience share of 50%, or half of the Filipino viewing population and an 18-point lead over GMA’s 32%. The primetime block is the most important time of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investments in to reach more consumers effectively.

ABS-CBN also led the morning block (6AM-12NN) where it recorded 39% versus GMA’s 32%; the noontime block (12NN-3PM) where it got a 45%, compared to GMA’s 36%, and the afternoon block (3PM-6PM) after it garnered 43%, beating GMA’s 38%.

ABS-CBN pinakapinanood na programa sa buong 2017

ABS-CBN ang pinakatinutukang network pagdating sa paghahatid ng mga makabuluhang balita at mga kwentong puno ng aral sa parehong urban at rural homes sa buong bansa noong 2017 matapos makamit ang national audience share na 46%, o 12 na puntos na mas mataas sa 34% ng GMA, ayon sa datos ng Kantar Media.

Namayagpag ang ABS-CBN sa mas maraming tahanan sa bawat parte ng bansa mula Enero hanggang Disyembre ng nakaraang taon, partikular na sa Metro Manila, kung saan nakakuha ito ng average audience share na 40% laban sa GMA na may 29%. Tinutukan din ang mga palabas ng Kapamilya network sa Total Balance Luzon kung saan nagkamit ito ng average audience share na 48%, kumpara sa 36% ng GMA, sa Total Visayas kung saan nakapagrehistro ito ng 53% at tinalo ang 28% ng GMA, at sa Total Mindanao kung saan nakakuha ito ng 53% laban sa 31% ng GMA.

Kinakatawan ng Kantar Media ang 100% ng mga manonood ng telebisyon sa buong bansa sa paggamit nito ng nationwide panel size na 2,610 na urban at rural homes.

Patuloy na nanguna sa national TV ratings ang ABS-CBN noong Disyembre matapos magkamit ng average audience share na 45%, kumpara sa GMA na mayroon lamang 34%.

Matapos ang higit dalawang taong pag-ere sa telebisyon, hindi pa rin natitinag ang “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” at malugod pa ring tinanggap sa tahanan ng mga manonood sa pagtala nito ng average national TV rating na 38.6%.

Sinundan ito ng pinag-usapang reality-talent show para sa celebrity kids na “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” na nagkamit ng average national TV rating na 35.7%.

Nakiisa rin ang samabayanan sa katuparan ng mga kabataang boses ang puhunan sa kauna-unahang edisyon sa Asya ng “The Voice Teens” na nakakuha naman ng 34.4%.

Lubos namang inabangan ang pagbabalik-telebisyon ng tambalan nina Kathryn Bernardo at Daniel Padilla sa “La Luna Sangre” (33.8%) na kinasabikan din dahil sa muling pagsasama nina Angel Locsin at Richard Gutierrez.

Nananatili namang pinakapinanood na newscast sa bansa ang “TV Patrol” (31.3%) na buong taong naghatid ng mga balita at naghandog ng serbisyong publiko sa mga Kapamilya sa iba’t ibang parte ng Pilipinas sa ika-30 anibersaryo ng programa.

Hindi rin naman nagpahuli ang pagpapasikat ng mga batang puno ng talento sa “Little Big Shots” (31.1%) na pinahanga ang mga manonood sa kakaiba nilang galing at talino.

Patok din ang mahika at aral na hatid ng “Wansapanataym” (29.8%) tuwing Linggo ng gabi. Nagbigay naman ng inspirasyon ang “MMK” (29.6%) sa ika-25 na taon nito sa telebisyon at patuloy na inaantig ang mga manonood sa totoong kwento ng letter senders.

Tinutukan din ang kwento ng kabutihan at pagmamahal sa “My Dear Heart” (27.6%) at ang kwento ng wagas na pag-ibig sa “Magpahanggang Wakas” (25%).

Samantala, ABS-CBN din ang nanguna sa bawat time blocks sa buong araw mula Enero hanggang Disyembre 2017, partikular na sa primetime sa pagtala nito ng average audience share na 50%, o kalahati sa mga Pilipinong manonoood sa bansa at 18 na puntos na lamang laban sa GMA na may 32%. Ang primetime block ang pinakaimportante parte ng araw kung kailan karamihan sa mga Pilpino ay nanonood ng telebisyon at inilalagay ng advertisers ang malaking parte ng kanilang investment upang makaabot sa mas maraming consumers.

Tinutukan din ang ABS-CBN sa morning block (6AM-12NN) sa pagtala nito ng 39% kumpara sa 32% ng GMA; sa noontime block (12NN-3PM) sa pagrehistro nito ng 45% laban sa 36% ng GMA; at sa afternoon block (3PM-6PM) sa pagkamit nito ng 43% at tinalo ang 38% ng GMA.
