ABS-CBN NEWS HONORED IN COMM GUILD, VACC, AND ALTA MEDIA AWARDS

ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs bagged a total of 29 awards from three different award-giving bodies, including Best News Program for “Bandila” and Best Morning Show for “Umagang Kay Ganda” at the 11th ComGuild Awards.

The news arm of the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company led the Kapamilya winners at ComGuild, which also presented the “Media Persona of Excellence” award to ABS-CBN executive adviser to the chairman, chief content officer, and ABS-CBN University president Charo Santos-Concio during its awarding ceremony last September 4.

Atom Araullo entered the Hall of Fame for Best Male Field Reporter, while also winning Best TV Personality. Ted Failon won Best AM Radio Anchor and Best AM Radio Program for his show “Failon Ngayon,” a year after being inducted in the ComGuild Awards’ Hall of Fame. Other ABS-CBN News personalities honored were Alvin Elchico (Best Male Field Reporter), Bernadette Sembrano (Most Outstanding Female News Presenter), and Kim Atienza (Best Educational Program Host), while the most awarded educational program in the Philippines, “Matanglawin” won another Best Educational Program trophy.

The ComGuild Awards, which aims to recognize the efforts of broadcast and journalism professionals who have made a mark in their fields, is held annually during the Conference of Journalism and Mass Communication Students of the Philippines that is attended by students from all over the nation.

Meanwhile, the country’s largest news organization was also recognized at the 18th anniversary of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) and the Alta Media Icon Awards of the University of Perpetual Help.

Anti-crime watchdog VACC named DZMM as the Outstanding Radio Station, “Failon Ngayon” as Outstanding Teleradyo Program, Noli De Castro as Outstanding Male Anchor, and Dominic Almelor as Outstanding News Reporter. VACC also awarded special citations for Gerry Baja (Special Award for Radio Anchor), “Dos Por Dos” (Special Award for Teleradyo Program), and “Failon Ngayon” (Special Award for Anti-corruption Campaign) in a ceremony held last August 29 at the Malacanang Palace.

ABS-CBN News also ruled in another student award-giving body, with 12 trophies won at the 2016 ALTA Media Icon Awards. DZMM won Best AM Radio Station as Failon (Best Male Radio Personality), Sembrano (Best Female TV News Personality), Elchico (Best Public Affairs Program Host), Atienza (Best Educational Program Host), and Anthony Taberna (Best News Talk program Host), Amy Perez (Best Morning Show Host) win as well. Completing the winners are “TV Patrol” (Best News Program), “Umagang Kay Ganda” (Best Morning Show), “Tapatan ni Tunying” (Best News Talk Program), “Matanglawin” (Best Educational Program), and “Dos Por Dos” (Best AM News Program).

These awards from these reputable organizations once again affirm the trust of the Filipino people on ABS-CBN as their source of news, commentary, analysis, and information.

Nag-uwi ang ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current ng 29 na pagkilala mula sa tatlong magkakaibang award-giving, kasama na ang Best News Program para sa “Bandila” at Best Morning Show ng “Umagang Kay Ganda” sa ika-11 na ComGuild Awards.

Ang news arm ng nangungunang media at entertainment company sa bansa ang nanguna sa mga pinarangalan sa ComGuild, na ginawaran din ng “Media Persona of Excellence” award ang ABS-CBN executive adviser to the chairman, chief content officer, at ABS-CBN University president Charo Santos-Concio noong nakaraang Linggo (September 4).

Nakapasok na sa Hall of Fame ng naturang award-giving body si Atom Araullo salamat sa kanyang pagkapanalo bilang Best Male Field Reporter at Best TV Personality. Ginawaran naman si Ted Failon ng Best AM Radio Anchor at ang kanyang programa sa radyo na “Failon Ngayon” ay nanalo bilang Best AM Radio Program, isang taon makalipas na siya mismo ay pumasok sa Hall of Fame ng ComGuild. Ang ComGuild Awards, na naglalayong kilalanin ang mga pagsusumikap ng mga broadcast at journalism professionals na nakapag-iwan na ng kanilang marka sa industriya, ay ginaganap taon-taon sa Conference of Journalism and Mass Communication Students of the Philippines na dinadaluhan ng mga estudyante mula sa iba’t ibang parte ng bansa.

Nagtagumpay rin ang ABS-CBN News sa isa pang student award-giving body, sa pamamagitan ng pag-uuwi ng 12 trophies sa 2016 ALTA Media Icon Awards. Nanalo ang DZMM ng Best AM Radio Station habang sina Failon (Best Male Radio Personality), Sembrano (Best Female TV News Personality), Elchico (Best Public Affairs Program Host), Atienza (Best Educational Program Host), at Anthony Taberna (Best News Talk program Host), Amy Perez (Best Morning Show Host) ay nabigyan rin ng mga parangal. Para kumpletuhin ang mga nanalo pala sa Kapamilya network, nariyan ang “TV Patrol” (Best News Program), “Umagang Kay Ganda” (Best Morning Show), “Tapatan ni Tunying” (Best News Talk Program), “Matanglawin” (Best Educational Program), at “Dos Por Dos” (Best AM News Program).

Ang mga award na napanalunan ng ABS-CBN News mula sa mga kagalang-galang na organisasyong ito ay patunay lamang na patuloy na nagtitiwala ang mga Pilipino sa paraan ng pangagalap ng impormasyon, pagababalita, at analysis ng pinakamalaking news organization sa bansa.
