ABS-CBN NEWS PRODUCES FOUR FINALISTS IN NEW YORK FESTIVALS

ABS-CBN News, the country’s largest news organization, brings honor to the country once again with four of its entries making it as finalists in this year’s New York Festival’s World’s Best TV & Films competition, which will be held on April 25 in Las Vegas, USA.

Leading the hopefuls for the festival’s prestigious bronze, silver, and gold medals is “Lando’s Wrath” by late night newscast “Bandila” in the Best Coverage of a Continuing News Story category, andTyphoon Lando” by top-rating primetime newscast “TV Patrol” in the Best Newscast category.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN DocuCentral documentary “Warmer,” which follows broadcast journalist Atom Araullo’s journey from Malabon in the Philippines to the Artic Norway to find answers to the ever-growing threat of climate change, also made it to the final list in the category Climate Change & Sustainability.

Completing the finalists from ABS-CBN News is “Mukha,” another award-winning documentary that airs on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel. Its episode “Serbisyo” is a finalist in the Current Affairs category. Last year, “Mukha” notched the Philippines’ first trophy from the Cannes Corporate Media and TV awards for its entry “Sisid.”

The New York Festival’s World’s Best TV & Films competition honors programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries with categories that mirror today’s global trends, and encourage the next generation of storytellers and talent.

Muling nagdala ng karangalan sa bansa ang ABS-CBN News matapos hiranging finalists ang apat na entry nito sa prestihiyosong New York Festival’s World’s Best TV & Films competition, na gaganapin sa April 25 sa Las Vegas, USA.

Nangunguna sa mga napansing gawa ng pinakamalaking news organization sa Pilipinas ang pagtutok nito sa bagyong Lando. Finalist sa Best Coverage of a Continuing News Story category ang “Lando’s Wrath” ng late night newscast na “Bandila,” gayundin ang “Typhoon Lando” ng nangungunang primetime newscast na “TV Patrol” sa Best Newscast category.

May tsansa ring makakamit ng bronze, silver, o gold medal sa New York Festivals, ang ABS-CBN DocuCentral documentary na “Warmer” na finalist sa Climate Change & Sustainability category. Dito ipinakita ang paglakbay ni Atom Araullo mula Malabon sa Pilipinas hanggang Artic Norway para hanapin ang mga sagot sa problema sa climate change.
