ABS-CBN, SKY win gold and silver in 2017 Spark Awards


ABS-CBN and its cable, broadband, and direct-to-home subsidiary SKY Cable Corporation, were once again recognized for media excellence as they hauled one Gold and one Silver award, respectively, in the 2017 Spark Awards in Singapore.

The Kapamilya network’s digital creative content team won Gold in the Best Content Team category for its entry titled “Creating Effective Digital Solutions for the Company, Brands, Fans, and the Country” as it enabled ABS-CBN and other partner clients to effectively engage target audiences by offering immersive digital solutions.

As it transitions into an agile digital company, ABS-CBN launched digital projects that serve the needs of its expanding digital audience, including One Music PH’s digital concerts, which are tailor fit for millennial audiences based on predictive social listening and the “Pinoy Big Brother” Online House, which gave fans of the hit TV show the chance to experience the thrill of being a housemate.

The country’s leading media and entertainment company’s other digital projects are Patrol.PH, a Filipino language news website that caters to the needs of the digital market; ABS-CBNfoundation.com, a website that inspires the general public to uplift fellow Filipinos through public service; and “Nesfruta Real or No Real Challenge,” an original online show that builds awareness among moms about the ‘real fruit’ goodness of Nesfruta, among many others.

Meanwhile, SKY bagged a Silver award once more, this time under the Best Event by a Media Owner category for the 2016 SKYathon Boracay Beach Run, an annual beach run that gathered clients, sponsors, and running enthusiasts to raise funds for the rehabilitation of Boracay’s coral reefs.

Besides promoting environment sustainability, SKYathon 2016 also became a platform for families and friends to bond together through a beach run, one of the event’s purpose that echoes SKY’s mission to strengthen the relationships of Filipinos through its products and services.

SKY earned its first Silver award in last year’s Spark Awards for its “me&mySKY” corporate campaign in 2015 under the Best Corporate Branding by a Media Owner category that showcased SKY’s strong relationship with its subscribers.

ABS-CBN and SKY’s latest triumphs show that industry peers in the Southeast Asian region trust and respect the two companies, which both aim to be in the service of Filipinos worldwide.

Ang Spark Awards ay taunang idinadaos ng Marketing magazine sa Singapore upang kilalanin ang pinakamahuhusay na proyekto, produkto, at serbisyo sa larangan ng media.

Inilunsad din ng nangungunang media at entertainment company sa bansa ang Patrol.PH, isang Filipino language news website; ABS-CBNfoundation.com, isang website na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa publiko na tulungan ang kapwa Pinoy sa pamamagitan ng serbisyong publiko; at ang “Nesfruta Real or No Real Challenge,” isang original online show na layuning ipakilala sa maraming ina ang ‘real fruit’ goodness ng Nesfruta, at marami pang iba.

Samantala, muli ring nagwagi ng Silver award ang SKY sa Best Event by a media Owner category para sa 2016 SKYathon Boracay Beach Run, isang annual beach run na dinaluhan ng mga kliyente, sponsors, at running enthusiasts para makalikom ng halagang magagamit para sa rehabilitasyon ng coral reefs sa Boracay.

Maliban sa pagtaguyod ng environment sustainability, naging paraan din ang naturang beach run para makapag-bonding ang mga magkakapamilya at magkakaibigan – isa sa mga layunin ng event na sumasalamin sa misyon ng SKY na mas patibayin pa ang pagsasama ng mga Pilipino gamit ang mga produkto at serbisyo ng SKY.

Nakuha ng SKY ang unang Silver award nito noong nakaraang taon sa sa kategoryang Best Corporate Branding by a Media Owner ng Spark Awards para sa “me&mySKY” 2015 corporate campaign nitong ipinakita ang pagpapahalagang dahil sa pagpapakita nila kung paano pinapahalagahan ng SKY ang kanilang subscribers.
