ABS-CBN WINS 23 CMMA AWARDS

ABS-CBN Corporation bagged a total of 23 recognitions at the recently held 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) for its socially relevant and values-laden programs and special projects.

ABS-CBN went home with 11 recognitions from the television categories that include Best News Program for “ANC’s The World Tonight,” Best Children and Youth Program for “Nathaniel,” Best Public Service Program for “Mission Possible,” Best TV Ad–Public Service category for ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management’s “Thank You sa Malasakit, Pope Francis” campaign tied with ABS-CBN Cebu’s “Panguma” campaign about farming.

Special Citations were also given to “TV Patrol Visayas” of ABS-CBN Cebu for the News Program category, while “Docucentral’s Ang Mabuting Pastol: Pope Francis sa Pilipinas,” “Thank You sa Malasakit: Pope Francis sa Pilipinas,” and “Mukha: Pagsisikap” were cited for the Special Coverage and News Magazine categories. “Ryan Ryan Musikahan: Home for Christmas” of Jeepney TV and “Docucentral: Ako at ang Papa,” meanwhile, were cited for the TV Special category.

ABS-CBN’s flagship AM station DZMM also brought home honors headlined by “Failon Ngayon sa DZMM” for Best News Commentary, “DZMM Lenten Drama Special” for Best Drama Program, “Salitang Buhay” for Best Counseling Program, and “Dr. Love Always and Forever” for Best Entertainment Program while “DZMM Red Alert” received a Special Citation for the Educational Program category.

The Kapamilya Network was also recognized in the music category through Jamie Rivera’s “We Are All God’s Children” that won the Best Music Video and Best Inspirational Song awards as well as two Special Citations for the Inspirational Album and Secular Song categories. Produced by Star Music, the song paid tribute to the visit of Pope Francis last January.

Gary Valenciano’s (featuring son Gab Valenciano) “Ipagpatuloy Mo Galing ng Pilipino,” also produced by Star Music, won the Best Secular Song.

Meanwhile, Star Cinema, in partnership with Paul Soriano’s TEN17 Productions, bagged the Students’ Choice for Best Film award for their epic story of Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao’s childhood, “Kid Kulafu.”

Organized by the Archdiocese of Manila, the CMMA is awarded to media products, whether in television, radio, film, music, advertising, and press, which enhance the total human development of the Filipino audience through the competent and professional use of mass media techniques and to promote the Christian values.

ABS-CBN WAGI NG 23 CMMA AWARDS

Muling pinatunayan ng ABS-CBN na ito ay isang responsableng media organization na nagsusulong ng magagandang asal sa mga manonood matapos itong humakot ng 23 parangal sa 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) kamakailan.

Nagwagi ng 11 na parangal ang ABS-CBN sa television categories kabilang ang Best News Program para sa “The World Tonight” ng ABS-CBN News Channel o ANC, Best Children and Youth Program para sa “Nathaniel,” Best Public Service Program para sa “Mission Possible,” Best TV Ad–Public Service para sa promotional material na “Thank You Sa Malasakit, Pope Francis” ng ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management ka-tie ang kampanyang “Panguma” ng ABS-CBN Cebu na tumatalakay sa pagbubukid.

Binigyan naman ng Special Citations ang “TV Patrol Visayas” ng ABS-CBN Cebu para sa News Program category at “Docucentral’s Ang Mabuting Pastol: Pope Francis sa Pilipinas,” “Thank You sa Malasakit: Pope Francis sa Pilipinas,” at “Mukha: Pagsisikap” para sa Special Coverage at News Magazine categories. May special citation din ang “Ryan Ryan Musikahan: Home for Christmas” ng Jeepney TV at “Docucentral: Ako at ang Papa” para sa TV Special category.

Maging ang AM radio station ng ABS-CBN na DZMM ay nag-uwi rin ng mga tropeo. Panalo bilang Best News Commentary ang “Failon Ngayon sa DZMM” habang itinanghal namang Best Drama Program ang “DZMM Lenten Drama Special.” Ginawaran din ng award bilang Best Entertainment Program ang “Dr. Love Always and Forever” at “Salitang Buhay” bilang Best Counseling Program habang ang “DZMM Red Alert” ay ginawaran ng special citation para sa Educational Program category.

Tumanggap din ang Kapamilya network ng parangal sa music categories dahil sa pagkapanalo ng kanta ni Jamie Rivera na “We Are All God’s Children” bilang Best Music Video at Best Inspirational Song kasabay ang dalawang Special Citations para sa Inspirational Album at Secular Song categories. Ang kantang ito na nilikha ng Star Music ay isinulat para sa pagbisita ni Pope Francis noong nakaraang Enero. Ang kantang “Ipagpatuloy Mo Galing Ng Pilipino” ni Gary Valenciano naman kasama ang anak na si Gab Valenciano, na prinoduce din ng Star Music, ay nanalo bilang Best Secular Song.

Samantala, napanalunan naman ng ng Star Cinema, kasama ang TEN17 Productions ni Paul Soriano, ang Student’s Choice for Best Film para sa “Kid Kulafu” kung saan kinuwento ang kabataan ng pambansang kamao na si Manny Pacquiao.

Ang CMMA ay inoorganisa ng Archdiocese ng Manila at iginagawad sa media — mapa- telebisyon, radyo, pelikula, musika, advertising, o press — na hinuhubog ang kagandahang-asal ng mga Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng propesyunal na paggamit ng mass media at pagpapalaganap ng Christian values.
