Angeline Quinto and Negi continue the tradition of community fun via TFC’s “Kapamilya Fun Day” in New Zealand

In the tradition of Pinoy fun and community spirit, TFC brought the annual “Kapamilya Fiesta World” event to New Zealand this time with the dynamite tandem of Angeline Quinto and Negi on November 18 at 81 Bickertom St. Wainoni Christ Church and on November 19 at the Southwell School Performance Arts Centre in Hamilton.

True to her name the Queen of Teleserye Themes, Quinto performed the most well-loved drama series themes as well as the inspirational “Don’t Stop Believing”, Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin”, and a band medley including “El Bimbo” and Hinahanap Kita”.

Filipinos are a talented lot and love to sing and one of the most favorite past-times is the karaoke.  In classic karaoke form, Quinto called out a few ladies to perform and Aegis medley with her in Christchurch and “Sumayaw Sumunod” the following day.

Negi, dubbed the Unakabogabol Sidekick, proved that like most Filipinos, he too can sing and can also own the stage as much as his mentor Vice Ganda.  The crowd was left in stitches as he made fun of himself; grouped the male members of the audience according to classifications including charm; and stirred everyone at the full Wainoni Christchurch. He started with “Dahil sa Yo”, and ended with the endearing “Sana Ngayong Pasko”.

On the next day, the two singers who both knew how to do comedy brought their interesting mix and continued the tradition of fun at the Southwell School Performance Arts Centre in Hamilton.

Truly, despite the distance, Filipinos in New Zealand find reason to celebrate and commune with fellowmen and TFC provided one of these platforms via the annual “Kapamilya Fun Day” this November.
According to Jay Santos, ABS-CBN Australia country manager, “Kapamilya Fun Day” was the first ever series of TFC events held in Christ Church and Hamilton.  He shared: “Filipinos in Australia used to see entertainment on their television and other platforms. Now that they have witnessed quality live entertainment, our fellowmen in the area have clamored and pledged support for similar events in the near future.  This inspires us to continue the tradition here”.

Aniya: “Filipinos in Australia used to see entertainment on their television and other platforms. Now that they have witnessed quality live entertainment, our fellowmen in the area have clamored and pledged support for similar events in the near future.  This inspires us to continue the tradition here”.
