CINEMA ONE ORIGINALS FESTIVAL 2016 OFFICIALLY OPENS

Movie fans can now watch the ten featured films in this year’s Cinema One Originals after the festival formally opened Sunday (Nov 13) in Trinoma Cinema 7.

Film makers, artists, and movie aficionados came together during the festival’s opening night and showed support for this year’s roster of independent movies.

In his welcome speech, the head of Cinema One and festival director Ronald Arguelles thanked the audience for their unwavering support for indie cinema every year.

“It’s all about the synergy between the films and the audiences. This synergy is the lifeblood of Cinema One Originals and the lifeblood of Philippine Cinema. This synergy is why we make films every year,” said Ronald.

Special citations were also given to “Ang Babaeng Humayo,” starring Charos Santos-Concio and John Lloyd Cruz, and Cinema One Originals 2015 entries “Manang Biring” and “Miss Bulalacao,” which are all independent films that made waves here and abroad.

Acclaimed foreign movie “The Wailing” also marked the opening of the festival.

CINEMA ONE ORIGINALS FILMS, MAPAPANOOD NA SA MGA SINEHAN

Mapapanood na sa mga sinehan ang pinakainaabangang indie films sa pagbubukas ng taunang Cinema One Originals Festival 2016 noong Linggo (Nov 13) sa Trinoma Cinema 7.

Dinaluhan ng iba’t-ibang film makers, artista, at movie aficionados ang opening night ng festival kung saan bumida ang iba’t-ibang pelikulang kalahok sa patimpalak ngayong taon.

Nagpaabot din ng pasasalamat ang festival director at head ng Cinema One na si Ronald Arguelles sa patuloy at mainit na pagsuporta ng mga manonood taon-taon.

“Ang lahat ng tagumpay na ito ay dahil sa samahang binubuo ng mga pelikula at ng mga manonood. Ang samahang ito ang buhay ng Cinema One Originals at ang buhay ng pelikulang Pilipino,” saad ni Ronald.

Ginawaran din ng special citation noong gabi ang ilan sa mga pelikulang nagbigay karangalan sa loob at labas ng bansa gaya ng “Ang Babaeng Humayo,” na pinagbidahan nina Charo Santos-Concio at John Lloyd Cruz, at Cinema One Originals 2015 entries na “Miss Bulalacao” at “Manang Biring.”

Featured film sa opening night ang acclaimed foreign film na “The Wailing” na talaga namang nagpakilabot at nagpatayo sa balahibo ng mga dumalo.
