CORY VIDANES APPOINTED ABS-CBN’S COO OF BROADCAST

ABS-CBN COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes

ABS-CBN Corporation announced the appointment of Cory Vidanes as its chief operating officer (COO) of broadcast, effective February 1, 2016.

Vidanes will continue to lead and oversee the total channel programming, artist development, on-air operations, events management, and overall revenue and profit delivery of Channel 2. Together with the Content Development Council headed by chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio, Vidanes will manage the development of new concepts for Channel 2 and the ABS-CBN TVplus channels Yey, CineMo, and Knowledge Channel.

She has been instrumental in making Channel 2 the most watched TV network in the country in 2015. Under her leadership, Channel 2 dominated the primetime block whole year round with shows such as “The Voice Kids,” “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” “Nathaniel,” “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

Vidanes’ leadership is also marked by her commitment to public service. She has spearheaded the preparation and execution of the network’s relief operations and donation drives for victims of natural disasters, including the successful “Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na” campaign’s T-shirt fundraising and benefit concerts for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

She is a recipient of the CEO Excel Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines in 2014 and was named one of People Asia magazine’s “People of the Year” in 2013 for her vital role in ABS-CBN’s achievements.

She began her career in television with BBC-2 in 1982. She joined ABS-CBN in 1986 as associate producer and was later appointed to various positions in the company – executive producer, assistant production manager, production manager, production director, head of TV production, Channel 2 head, head of broadcast, and finally, head of free TV.

Vidanes completed an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School in 2014. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Communication Arts.

Pormal na inanunsyo ng ABS-CBN Corporation ang pagtatalaga kay Cory Vidanes bilang chief operating officer (COO) of broadcast nito simula Pebrero 1, 2016.

Patuloy na pamumunuan ni Vidanes ang mga programa, artista, events, at paghahatid ng kita sa Channel 2. Kasama ang Content Development Council na pinangungunahan ng chief content officer na si Charo Santos-Concio, pangangasiwaan din ni Vidanes ang pagbubuo ng mga bagong konsepto para sa Channel 2 at ABS-CBN TVplus channels na Yey, CineMo, at Knowledge Channel.

Naging mahalaga ang papel ni Vidanes sa tagumpay ng Channel 2 bilang ang pinakatinutukang TV network sa bansa noong 2015. Sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno, buong taong nanguna ang Channel 2 sa primetime sa pamamagitan ng mga dekalibreng programa gaya ng “The Voice Kids,” “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” “Nathaniel,” “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” at “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

Bahagi rin ng epektibong pamumuno ni Cory ang dedikasyon niyang paglingkuran ang publiko, lalo na sa mga panahon ng kalamidad. Siya ang nanguna sa paghahanda at pagsasagawa ng relief operations at donation drives ng network, kabilang na ang T-shirt fundraising and benefit concerts ng matagumpay na kampanyang “Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na” para sa mga biktima ng bagyong Yolanda noong 2013.

Para sa kanyang pamamahala at kontribusyon sa mga tagumpay ng ABS-CBN, pinarangalan siya ng CEO Excel Award ng International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines noong 2014 at pinangalanang isa sa “People of the Year” ng People Asia magazine’s “People of the Year” noong 2013.

Nagsimula ang karera niya sa telebisyon sa BBC-2 noong 1982. Pumasok naman siya sa ABS-CBN noong 1986 bilang associate producer bago naging executive producer, assistant production manager, production manager, production director, head of TV production, Channel 2 head, head of broadcast, at head of free TV.

Kumuha si Vidanes ng Advanced Management Program sa Harvard Business School noong 2014 at nagtapos ng kursong Communication Arts sa Ateneo de Manila University.
