Former Eagles and Archers go head to head in “S+A Unfiltered”

Before the UAAP 80 Finals between the De La Salle University and the Ateneo De Manila University begins on Saturday (November 25), catch legendary Green Archers and Blue Eagles led by Renren Ritualo and Larry Fonacier face-off in a no-holds-barred interview on “S+A Unfiltered: The UAAP Finals Special,” at 2 pm on S+A and S+A HD.

Two-time Finals MVP Renren is joined by two-time Mythical Five member Rico Maierhofer and two-time MVP Don Allado in the La Salle side, while Larry is joined by his co-Finals MVP in 2002 Wesley Gonzales, and two-time Finals MVP Nico Salva for Ateneo.

In this special hosted by Miss World Philippines Laura Lehmann and ABS-CBN Sports anchor Anton Roxas, the six UAAP legends will talk about the famed rivalry of Ateneo and La Salle and their experience playing against each other during their time.

The former UAAP champions will also share their thoughts about the brand of play in the UAAP before and today and who among today’s crop of players they believe to have what it takes to be great.

Renren, Rico, Don, Larry, Wesley, and Nico will also give their unfiltered take on various basketball issues and topics like allowing foreign student-athletes play in the UAAP, officiating during the games, product endorsements by athletes, and the unbelievable attention the league and players get today both on mainstream and social media. Rico, one of the league’s most colorful players ever, also got a chance to clear a previously unsettled issue in “Unfiltered.”

To wrap up the special, the proud UAAP alumni will weigh in on the match up in the finals and share what they think their teams should do to win the title for their school.
