The verdict is out and it looks like Myx TV’s newest original series, Mom vs Matchmaker, is a winner of a series following its premiere on May 3!
Myx TV, a 24/7 network targeting Asian Americans, teamed up with Go Button Media and Carmelia Ray, a leading authority in the online dating and matchmaking industry, for a reality dating show that pits Ray’s matchmaking know-how against that of mothers’ personal knowledge of their children, testing the adage, “mother knows best”.
OK! Magazine hailed the show as “Must-See TV!”. The buzz was also spread online and on social media by U.S. and Canadian media that include, TV Ruckus, Cynopsis, TV.com, Rickey.org, Breakthrough Entertainment Radio Show, the national Tom Barnard Podcast, Hidden Remote, Red Carpet Crash, Broadcasting & Cable, The Problem With Dating, Yahoo News, Seriously? OMG! WTF?, Playback (known as the Canadian version of Variety) and Saultstar.
The show also aired simultaneously on Canadian cable channel, ichannel, and will be exclusively distributed internationally by Electus International. Electus also distributes highly popular shows like” Jane the Virgin”, “Mob Wives”, and “Dating Naked”.
In a recent feature by The Hollywood Reporter, Miguel Santos, general manager of Myx TV, said he believes that the show will connect with audiences who can relate to mothers getting involved in their romantic lives. “Viewers are going have fun watching the drama and the romance unfold,” Santos said.
Mom vs. Matchmaker is produced by Go Button Media for Myx TV. The executive producers are Santos for Myx TV and Daniel Oron and Natasha Ryan for Go Button Media.
