NU looks to sweep PVL Collegiate Conference on ABS-CBN S+A

National University (NU) will look to sweep Far Eastern University (FEU) for the first Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Collegiate Conference title this Saturday (October 14) at 6:30 pm on S+A and S+A HD after subduing the Lady Tams last Wednesday (October 11) in four sets.

The NU Lady Bulldogs pounced on a Bernadeth Pons-less FEU Lady Tamaraws in four explosive sets, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24, and move within a win of sweeping the entire conference in their title drive. Star Jaja Santiago pumped in 23 points on the strength of 15 kills to lead the Lady Bulldogs while Czarina Carandang bannered for the Lady Tams with 17 markers.

Meanwhile, Arellano University (AU) blasted the Adamson University (Adu) in three sets, 25-23, 26-24, 25-14, to grab the opening win in their Battle for Third series. Jovielyn Prado led the way for the Lady Chiefs with 18 points on 11 kills while teammate Regine Arocha cashed in for 15 markers. Joy Dacoron was the top scorer for the Lady Falcons with nine. The second game of their own series will be at 4 pm also on Saturday (October 14) with primetime at 8 pm on S+A and S+A HD.

Meanwhile, “PVL On Tour” is headed to the Batangas City Sports Complex for its second leg this Sunday (October 15) with Banko Perlas Spikers meeting Creamline Cool Smashers, who will be joined by star player Alyssa Valdez at 6 pm, while Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors face Bali Pure Water Defenders at 7:30 pm. The Cool Smashers and Perlas Spikers will be coming from victories against the Lady Warriors and Water Defenders, respectively, during the launch of “PVL On Tour” in Cagayan last week.

Susubukan ng National University (NU) na walisin ang kanilang serye laban sa Far Eastern University (FEU) para sa kauna-unahang korona sa Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Collegiate Conference ngayong Sabado (Oktubre 14) ng 6:30 pm sa S+A at S+A HD.

Hindi na nagpatumpik-tumpik ang NU Lady Bulldogs sa pag-taob sag FEU Lady Tamaraws noong Miyerkules (Oktibre 11) sa loob ng apat na umaatikabong set, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24, at nangangailangan na lang ng isang panalo para mag-kampeon. Kumamada ang Lady Bulldogs star na si Jaja Santiago ng 23 puntos sa tulong ng kanyang 15 kills habang sinubukan naman ni Czarina Carandang ng Lady Tams na tapatan ito ng kanyang 17 na puntos, bilang pampuno sa kawalan ng star player na si Bernadeth Pons, na hindi pinaglaro.

Samantala, hindi napigilan ng Adamson University (AdU) ang Arellano University (AU) na nagwagi sa tatlong set, 25-23, 26-24, 25-14 sa unang laro ng kanilang Battle of Third series. Pinangunahan ni Jovielyn Prado ang Lady Chiefs na may 18 puntos habang nagbuslo naman ng 15 na puntos ang kanyang kakamping si Regine Arocha. Ang siyam na puntos ni Joy Dacoron ang nanguna naman para sa Lady Falcons. Gaganapin ang ikalawang laro ng kanilang serye sa Sabado (Oktubre 14) ng 4 pm at ipapalabas sa primetime ng 8 pm sa S+A at S+A HD.
