Piolo’s “Northern Lights” makes its way to Cinema One this Sunday

Will father and son ever find the light inside their hearts?

The poignant story between a young boy in need of a father’s affection and his estranged dad with a troubled past takes the spotlight as “Northern Lights: A Journey to Love,” starring Piolo Pascual, Yen Santos and Raikko Mateo, premieres on Cinema One this Sunday (Oct. 8).

Featuring beautiful sceneries from New Zealand, the Land of the Long White Cloud, and also shots from Alaska, this 2017 drama film on love, forgiveness and acceptance was graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

It centers on carefree Charlie (Piolo), a Filipino immigrant in Alaska who suddenly has to take care of his son, Charlie Jr. (Raikko) whom he left behind in the Philippines in the care of his mother.

Amidst the struggles between the father and his son in The Last Frontier, the older Charlie unconsciously opens himself to a blossoming friendship with Angel (Yen) who went to Alaska to find her long lost mother.

Will Charlie get pass his previous heartbreak that brought him so much pain? Will the child ever win the fatherly love that he longed for?

The film, directed by Dondon Santos and produced by Star Cinema, Regal Entertainment and Spring Films, also stars Maricar Reyes-Poon, Joel Torre, Jerald Napoles, Sandy Andolong, and Tirso Cruz III.

Tampok ang madamdaming kwento ng isang batang naghahanap ng pagmamahal mula sa kanyang amang may masakit na nakaraan sa “Northern Lights: A Journey to Love,” na pinagbibidahan nina Piolo Pascual, Yen Santos at Raikko Mateo, sa Cinema One ngayong Linggo (Oct. 8).

Mapapanood ang mga magagandang tanawin sa New Zealand at Alaska sa nasabing drama film tungkol sa pag-ibig, pagpapatawad at pagtanggap na binigyan ng grade B ng Cinema Evaluation Board bago ito ipalabas sa sinehan noong Marso.

Isang Filipino immigrant si Charlie (Piolo) sa pelikula na buhay binata sa kanyang paninirahan sa Alaska hanggang si kinailangan niyang alagaan ang anak na si Charlie, Jr. (Raikko) na matagal na niyang iniwan sa Pilipinas kasama ng ina nito. Dito na magsisimula ang pagsubok sa paninirahan ng bata sa poder ng kanyang ama.

Makikilala din ni Charlie ang isang Filipina, si Angel (Yen), na nagpunta sa Alaska upang hanapin ang kanyang ina at sa hindi inaasahang pagkakataon ay magsisimula ang isang malalim na pagkakaibigan ng dalawa.

Haharapin na kaya ni Charlie ang matagal na niya dapat ginawang paglimot sa masakit na pinagdaanan? Makukuha pa kaya ng batang Charlie ang inaasam-asam niyang pagmamahal mula sa ama?
