Restored movies nina Juday at Piolo, mapapanood sa “REELive the Classics”

Apat na digitally restored and remastered na pelikula na pinagtambalan nina Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo at Piolo Pascual ang bibida sa isa na namang edisyon ng “REELive the Classics” na tatakbo mula Miyerkules (Nov 8) hanggang Martes (Nov 14) sa Power Plant Cinemas.

Ang “REELive the Classics” ay bahagi ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration campaign na “Sagip Pelikula,” sa pakikipagtulungan sa Power Plant Cinemas, na naglalayong salbahin at i-restore ang classic films at maipakitang muli sa publiko gamit ang iba’t ibang platforms.

Pormal na binuksan kamakailan ang “REELive the Classics” noong (Nov 5) sa red carpet premiere ng 2006 hit romantic comedy na “Don’t Give Up On Us” na dinaluhan mismo ni Piolo Pascual at director na si Joyce Bernal.

“Grabe po ang effort na binibigay ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration Group. You have to believe what we fight for and that’s for us to see the classics. It is really for us. Sana ‘yung suporta na ibinibigay natin sa mga pelikula natin noon hanggang ngayon ay mabigyan ng importansya at maipasa natin sa mga kabataan,” sabi ni Piolo.

Bukod sa obra ni Joyce Bernal, tampok din sa naturang cinema exhibition ang tatlo pa sa pelikula ng tambalang Judy Ann at Piolo na “Kahit Isang Saglit,” “Till There Was You,” at “Bakit Di Totohanin.”

Ilan pang digitally restored and remastered films ang matutunghayan katulad ng “Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko,” “Karma,” “High School Scandal,” “Cain at Abel,””Karnal,” “Daddy O,Baby O!,” at “Ligaya ang Itawag mo sa Akin.”

Tatakbo ang “REELive the Classics” mula Miyerkules (Nov 8) hanggang Martes (Nov 14) sa Rockwell Power Plant Mall. Ang ticket ay nagkakahalagang P250 at mayroong discounted price para sa mga estudyante na P150.

Taong 2011 nang simulan ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project ang pagre-restore ng classic films para mapanatiling buhay ang cinematic history ng mga Pilipino. Katuwang ang Central Digital Lab, ito ang pinakaunang restoration na ginawa mismo sa bansa.

Mahigit 120 titulo na ang nairestore ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project kung saan ilan sa mga ito ay naipalamas na sa international film fests, naipalabas sa bansa via red carpet premieres, naere sa free-to-air at cable television, natunghayan sa pay-per-view at video-on-demand, nabili sa DVD at na-download maging sa iTunes.

RESTORED JUDY ANN-PIOLO MOVIES HEADLINE “REELIVE THE CLASSICS” AT POWER PLANT CINEMAS

Four digitally restored and remastered movies starring Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual headline another edition of “REELive the Classics” restored film exhibition that will run from Wednesday (Nov 8) to Tuesday (Nov 14) at Power Plant Cinemas.

“REELive the Classics” is part of ABS-CBN Film Restoration Group’s campaign dubbed as “Sagip Pelikula,” in partnership with Power Plant Cinemas, which aims to locally restore classic films and make it available to the general public via different platforms.

The week-long film exhibition was formally opened via the red carpet premiere of the 2006 hit romantic comedy film “Don’t Give Up On Us” attended by no less than its lead star Piolo Pascual and director Bb. Joyce Bernal.

“ABS-CBN Film Restoration Group has given so much effort into this project. You have to believe what we fight for and that’s for us to see the classics. It is really for us. I hope we continue to support and value our films so that we can pass them on to the next generation,” Piolo said.

Aside from “Don’t Give Up On Us,” “REELive The Classics” will also feature three other Judy Ann and Piolo-starrers namely “Kahit Isang Saglit,” “Till There Was You,” and “Bakit Di Totohanin.”

Meanwhile, other digitally restored and remastered films making their way back to the big screen are “Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko,” “Karma,” “High School Scandal,” “Cain at Abel,””Karnal,” “Daddy O,Baby O!,” and “Ligaya ang Itawag mo sa Akin.”

The festival will run from Wednesday (Nov 8) to Tuesday (Nov 14) at the Rockwell Power Plant Mall. Tickets cost P250, with a discounted rate of P150 for students.

Since 2011, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has been restoring classic films to help preserve Philippine cinematic history. Together with Central Digital Lab, it has become the first restoration effort to be done within the country.

To date, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has already restored over 120 films, some of which were already screened internationally via film fests, screened locally via red carpet premieres, aired on free-to-air and cable television, viewed via pay-per-view and video-on-demand, distributed on DVD, and downloadable even on iTunes.
